As for the lights---couldn't you find any DIMMER lightbulbs? I had to use a flashlight to read my maps for routing the next day.
Arrived about 7pm on the day of the total eclipse. Although Wells is 200 miles from the eclipse path, the office was swamped. (We were very happy to already have a reservation.) The one woman at the front desk did a very admirable job of handling the line of people checking in along with a steady stream of phone calls, and kept her good humor.
Our room was basic but very clean and seemed recently renovated. In particular, I was glad it had a queen bed (instead of two doubles, which has long been the std at Motel6). Towels were somewhat skimpy, again normal for Motel6.
The shower is so small, it is very uncomfortable---but hey, there was a huge sink taking up the entire counter...barely room enough for setting a toothbrush & toothpaste tube.
I will never ever recommend Motel 6 after this last stay. The room was clean with exceptions to the sheets had not been changed from the prior client. The sheets were wrinkled, soiled and pulled from the mattress and you can tell slept on. We got another room with no apologies and it wasn't much better..She knew what was going on. The mattress was something you couldn't imagine. I have seen better at Thrift stores. Terrible Terrible Terrible. I spoke with others from near by towns and they are known for not changing sheets. This is ridiculous. I know for the price I was not expecting the Hilton but I did pay to get a CLEAN good night sleep. Again, I will never stay at a Motel 6 again due to this experience. And you can bet I will be telling everyone I can for years to come how bad it was. I never want anyone to go thru this. I would not have even stayed there but I was with others who were meeting up with us there. Be lucky that these are older people with no computer so they can not give ratings but the word of mouth is worse. You need to drop in and check on this place and see for yourself. The room was clean and the bathroom was very clean but I came there to sleep not sit in the bathroom. The chairs in the room looked and felt like I was sitting in my grandchild's classroom. Very uncomfortable also. Again, I hope you go to these little towns and check this out. Just because there is not much competition doesn't mean you should run a business like this. I don't usually write reviews but I really had to on this Motel 6.
The toilet was so low, we had to drop down to sit on it. I tried to use the door to help pull up again---AND THE DOOR CAME OFF ITS HINGES!
This is the LAST Motel 6 for us. The 2 full-size beds were so tight together we could not get between them. At 76 years, crawling over the bed to get in is simply not convenient.
The rooms are very clean and updated with stylish furniture. Excellent! Staff is outstanding great people! Right off the highway, would highly recommend
Overall it was an extremely good value for the very reasonable price we paid.
This is the LAST time we use Motel 6. I went next door to the motel and for only $10 more per night, we actually got 2 queen beds, normal lights, and a bathroom with a shower/tub....and a normal sink.
Very nice place and staff. I asked for a room in the back of the house and upstairs, and got it. Loved the shower and just about everything else about this location, other than all the big rigs that park across the street from the motel. It's just a stone's throw from the Int. 80 on ramps.
Your motel is uncomfortable and even worse with your orange "upgrade." My advice to your designer---stay in the motel for one week and see how YOU like it.
