We were on a long car trip and we had our tires inspected right before we left. We were getting gas at the Shell station (very overpriced) when the guy came running out to say we had a bad tire. We looked at the tire and said there was nothing wrong with it. He said it was an old, bad tire and it wasn't safe. He said he'd never go out on the highway on that tire. We left and drove several hundred more miles to our destination. That tire was fine. These people are crooks.

He then quickly says oh I see the problem here, your bushing on the suspension are shot, I can replace them for $395.00 per side. I told him I cannot afford that and he says I will throw in the labor for free. I asked how much it would be without labor and he says $395.00 per side????? By now I realize this guy is a scammer and told him just to put my tire back on. He warns my family of the dangers of not fixing it. When my wife shows concern he drops the price to $400.00 for both sides with brass bushings. I said no and he played the trust me I was in the Marines and me and my brother are St. George boys.

We stopped for gas and a man came up and said we had a bad tire. We let him check it and it really was bad. We agreed to a replacement, but he said we needed four tires because of the kind of car. And, those tires (21") would need to be ordered. He gave us a price installed for almost $1100 per tire! But, we were stuck. After prepaying the bill, including overnight delivery, we checked into a hotel. They told us he was dishonest. We had dinner at a local restaurant where they told us he was dishonest. But, we were stuck since we had prepaid the charges. Next morning we got a call at 8:50 a.m. from the Shell owner saying there had been a mistake and our tires would not arrive as scheduled, even though we had paid $345 for overnight delivery. BUT, if we paid an additional $1000 over and above the already $4242.00, he would drive to Reno and get the tires. We told him to cancel the order. We also called our credit card company and contested the charge. We then went to another local dealer. They "hot shotted" the tires from Salt Lake City and we were on our way in 5 hours, at a much reduced charge. So, I recommend not dealing with the Shell station at all. I reported them to Shell, but have not heard anything more. In our case, our tire was bad and it would not have been good to be on the road, but he pushed us in a corner and continued to try to get more money from us. Where would it have stopped? Thankfully, others in Wells are great people and helped us when we needed it most.

This shop is a total scam! The employee followed me into another gas station and said my trailer tire was wobbling really bad. He said to bring it over to the tire shop at the Chevron and he would look at it for free and help me out. I thought wow this guy is really nice, so I took the trailer over to him and he pulled the rear wheel on a double axle trailer. He spun the drum by hand and I told him I just had the entire brakes and bearing replaced before my trip( I am only 200 miles into this trip)

I drove away from there and made it to Reno just fine. I had an RV dealer look at my trailer bushings and the guy said they are just fine.

By the way my tire did not wobble at all, he was following me when I was doing 20 mph and turning into a reputable gas station.

I highly recommend you stay far away from the Chevron tire shop!!

We were driving from San Francisco to New York and on the way we stopped in Wells, Nevada for dinner. When we started the car engine we started to hear strange rattle from engine. Because of that we decided to stay for one night in the hotel. Next day in the morning we were looking for somebody who could help us to tow the car to Salt Lake City and the person who was working in All American Tire garage said that it's not legal to tow the car with towing rope in Nevada and that they can fix it. He called mechanic to check our car. Mechanic Soren said that he knows what happened and that he can fix it and it will take 2 days. On the same day the person who was working in front desk asked us for 100$ deposit for parts. We gave him. After two days the car was not fixed, it had the same rattle sound. Soren said that he don't know whats wrong with it and he said that he can't fix it. We asked him to talk with the owner. The owner said that we have to pay for service even if they didn't fix it. We agreed to pay and when we took the car and started to drive to ATM the car broke totally. We were unable to drive. We called to owner and said. Now we can't drive with the car what to do? He said don't worry you don't need to pay, leave the car and I will give you a lift to the nearest town from were you can rent a car. We wait him for 3 hours and he didn't arrived, we called him 3 times he didn't answered. In the end we left a car in the town and find people who help us to get to Elko from were we rented the car and drove to New York. After few days he called us again and said that we owe him 200$ and that we need to pay it. I really don't want that other people would have the same problem. Because of this company we lost around 3000 $.

Stay away, they're CROOKS! It's amazing how we've all had the same experience! We are here camping on vacation and stopped in only to fill our BBQ propane bottle, nothing to do with our vehicle. The man rushes out to tell me he can't pump propane, but before I can leave he starts crawling around under our car! He tells us a shock is loose, that it's dangerous and to bring the car over so he can put it on the lift and show me. Now I used to earn my living working on cars so I keep a close eye on ours. But he was insistent there was a dangerous problem that needed fixing. Once on the lift, with nothing that I could see wrong, he said the shocks were "blown". There was nothing wrong with either shock, but he brought out a replacement he wanted to sell me. While we talked, his man began removing the wheels from our car! Then he pulled one of my shocks off and threw it in the waste can! They said it'd be over $600 to make the car "safe" to drive. I told them to put my shocks and wheels back on and I was leaving. The manager and his worker then both got mad and surrounded me, saying I'd agreed to the work (a LIE) and owed them money. My car needed no "work", these guys are scam artists preying upon people. They zeroed in on us because we had out-of-state plates and they could see my husband is disabled. They began angrily replacing everything they'd removed, and I tried to watch all that was done to prevent them secretly damaging/sabotaging my vehicle. Tomorrow I will go underneath myself and inspect it for our safety. Stay away from these crooks at all costs! I am going to report them to the Chamber of Commerce in Wells--no one this dishonest should be allowed to stay in business! They bring shame on their community.

I finished a 1600 mile trip and my tire wear is perfect, bearings are great and the trailer did just fine.
